Abbreviation of Fine Fragrances Inc., established in Florida in 1992; a distributer of prestige fragrances and cosmetics. The company experienced rapid growth; in November 1995 merged with Florida based, Suave Shoe Corporation Inc. FFI acquired Suaves' Miami Lakes facility and FFI became a public trading company .
In 1996 acquired the license to manufacture and distribute the Geoffrey Beene fragrance brands from Sanofi Beaute. (Sanofi now trade as YSL Beaute and are now part of Gucci).
Also in 1996 also gained exclusive US only distribution for Benetton fragrances and the Galenic Elancyl skincare brand.
In 1997 acquired the manufacturing and distribution rights to the Halston fragrance brands, as well as US distribuition rights to several more brands including Balenciaga and Ted Lapidus.
In 1998 acquired the rights to manufacture and distribute Giorgio Beverly Hills Wings for Men from Procter & Gamble.
In 1999 acquired the rights to the Paul Sebastian brands which include the Cigar Aficianado fragrance.
In 2001 changed their name to Arden Inc after the acquisition of Elizabeth Arden from Unilever in 2000.
