Anne Klein dies in 1974; Donna become co-director; divorced in 1977. Married sculptor Stephen Weiss in 1983. Established own company 'Donna Karan New York' in 1985. Launched DKYN, inspired by daughter, in 1988. Established cosmetics and fragrance division and launched signature fragrance in 1992: in financial trouble in 1996, DK Beauty Company taken over by Estée Lauder in 1997. | ||||
