| Marcel Rochas was born in Paris in 1902; in 1925 opened couture House of Rochas at 100 Boulevard St Honoré; moved to 12 avenue Matignon, Paris in 1931; Launched signature fragrance in 1926; established Parfums Rochas in partnership with Alfred Gosset in 1944. Closes couture in 1953 to concentrate on perfumes and accessories. Dies in 1955; wife Hélène became president, steps down in 1970 leaves Gosset as president. In 1975 Gosset retires, Rochas acquired by Roussel-Uclaf; sold to Wella of Germany in 1987. | ||||
